Now Hiring - Plant Nursery Production Assistant & Sales in San Martin, CA

Lakeside Nursery is a wholesale grower of ornamental plants for the landscape industry.

Horticultural experience is a PLUS, but is not required to apply for this position. We will train the right candidate. We are looking for hard-working individuals that are passionate about customer service and are looking to grow with our company.

Starting pay is commensurate with experience and/or educational qualifications.

Bilingual or basic working understanding of Spanish is a must.

The Plant Nursery Production/Sales Assistant works under the direction of Managers to ensure that the nursery maintains accurate inventory levels, fulfills customer orders, and works with the production crew to manage the nursery stock.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

In-Office work:

• Maintain accurate inventory records by counting and reconciling crop numbers in sales/production software.
• Prepare inventory reports and sold reports for Management team, and investigate and report discrepancies.
• Work closely with order pickers to ensure order fulfillment accuracy.
• Maintain supply of signs, print and tag supplies, etc.
• Create and print signage (hang tags, pot sticks, wrap-around labels) for production stock in NiceLabel software.
• Process customer sales and write quotes in-office.
• Assist Nursery Manager with any tasks as requested.

Working hands-on with Production Team crew members in the following capacities:

• Filling pots
• Planting seedlings, shifting nursery stock to larger containers
• Watering, spacing, and pruning plants
• Pulling/loading customer orders
• Maintaining a clean, safe, & organized work environment

Requirements:

• Full-time availability
• Saturday availability
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Able to carry/lift 40 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to work on a crew and maintain a set pace of work
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Customer service experience
• Know how to use Excel, MS Word, computers, and able to learn sales/production software systems
• Fast typist
• Retail math - Calculate change, sales tax, perform cash drops, etc.

You are:

• Punctual
• Able to follow and keep to schedules
• Comfortable with technology and learning new systems

Education:

• HS degree required
• College degree or some educational credits preferred
